May I sit with you? We can exchange conversation. May I walk with you? We may note the world around us, together. May I share time with you? Let's have a mutual experience, layered, as well as our own.
The Art of Loneliness
When you feel lonely, it's because of an absence. If you're not comfortable with being lonely, you'll act to cover the loneliness in some way. If you're really not comfortable with loneliness, you could go to extremes to fill the void.
And what would happen if you appreciated loneliness? Have you ever created something fantastic because you were bored or lonely?
As humans, we like to fill spaces. Sadly, we are being trained more and more towards a consumptive society, by the act of filling even relationships with worthless gifts.
You always feel valued/loved/appreciated by giving a gift.
No, I don't. And I don't want a crappy gift. I won't give them and don't want them.
What I want is your company. I want to laugh with you, I want to hold your hand, I want to share a moment and relive it over and over again because we share something special.
Human beings are social creatures, we live in communities. A handmade gift used to be seen as the worst, now back in fashion, and I'll go so far as to say, the gift of time shared will become the ultimate gift of all.
It's time, let 2017 be the year where you ask someone, "May I share your company?". Do something wonderful for the planet, save the $$, don't buy crappy stuff, give experiences, give time, give sharing, give caring. It starts with you.
PS. We all know, give in abundance that which you want to receive. Your time is your own, use is specially.
